Located on Fulton Street between Gough and Franklin, the Don Fisher Clubhouse opened its doors on January 28, 2015. This Club replaced the historic Ernest Ingold Clubhouse which served the Haight, Lower Haight, Fillmore, and Hayes Valley communities for 62 years. Don Fisher Clubhouse currently serves 250 youth per day and during the school year and over 350 youth per day during the summer.

The Clubhouse facility features a competition-size swimming pool, learning center, performing arts studio, music studio, high school services center, middle school room, design-build studio, and high-school-size gymnasium, and is approximately 30,000 square feet. The Club is home to the SF Rebels Basketball program, the BGCSF Swim Academy, Notes4Notes (a music program) and Nitty Dupree/Talent All-Stars Studio of Dance.

The building honors the legacy of two of the strongest supporters and volunteers in Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco’s history. The Clubhouse is named after the late Don Fisher, who co-founded Gap Inc. and served the Club’s Board of Governors for 46 years. The organization’s main office is located on the top two floors and is named in honor of the late Dr. John N. Callander, a beloved San Francisco physician who served on the Club’s Board of Governors for 50 years.

College Prep

College Prep provides members with mentorship and support to be eligible for post-secondary education beyond graduating from high school to a vocational program, two-year or four-year college. In partnership with the UCSF Early Academic Outreach Program, our education directors and high school services directors guide members through the process of exploring post-secondary opportunities, the college application process, standardized testing, accessing scholarships and financial aid and enrollment support.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts Program at Don Fisher Clubhouse was developed, in large part, to an increasing need to provide another form of artistic expression for members. Moreover, due to its proximity to the heart of performing arts in San Francisco (the Ballet, Opera, Symphony, SF Jazz), it was only natural that Don Fisher became the performing arts Club at BGCSF. The program consists of beginning, intermediate and advanced dance as well as acrobatics, drama, spoken word and musical theater. Through a partnership with Talent All Stars, Don Fisher Clubhouse members are able to participate in dance competitions across the country.

Swim Academy (Aquatics Center)

The Swim Academy program at Don Fisher Clubhouse helps youth progressively acquire knowledge, develop skills, and gain confidence all while having fun and staying healthy in and out of the water. Our swim programs attract and engage youth from all skill levels, while emphasizing safety at all times. Programs include: Water Smart Class, recreational swim, Learn-to-Swim, and three competitive swim teams.

SF Rebels Basketball Program

Led by Citywide Athletics Director and BGCSF alumnus Nate Ford, the SF Rebels Basketball program is BGCSF’s year-round basketball program that focuses on athletics as well as academics. The national-championship winning SF Rebels compete in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and travel around the country to participate in national tournaments. The Rebels have teams from 9u to varsity for Boys, and 12u-14u for Girls.

Keystone Club

As a small-group leadership and service club for Club members ages 14 to 18, Keystoners plan and execute activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. With the guidance of a Club advisor, Keystone Clubs aim to have a positive impact on members, the Club and their community.

Career Connect @BGCSF

Career Connect @BGCSF provides youth with the skills and experiences that lead to sustainable and fulfilling careers, while emphasizing the importance of secondary and post-secondary education. Youth participate in resume and cover letter training, individual career advising sessions, year-round skill-building workshops, internship development and placement, mock interviews and network opportunities with industry executives, to name a few.

Other Programs at Don Fisher:
