BACKGROUND

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco opened the Sunnydale Clubhouse in 1991 as part of its effort to expand into public housing. Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco has had a consistent presence in Sunnydale, never closing for more than one week at a time since opening its doors. Sunnydale is the city’s largest public housing complex, but the Sunnydale Clubhouse is among BGCSF’s smallest sites due to the limited space that the Housing Authority has available. Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco is proud to serve this community.

PROGRAMS AT SUNNYDALE CLUBHOUSE

Literacy Enrichment Programs

Our Literacy Enrichment programs strive to build foundational literacy skills and foster a lifelong love of learning in youth members. Youth are engaged through field trips, art, and technology activities that infuse literacy outcomes. Graffiti art, spoken word, music and dance are incorporated into literacy programming.

Other Programs at Sunnydale

Members can also participate in weekly gardening and nutrition programs with Urban Sprouts, STEAM activities, and programs led by the Exploratorium and local library.
