Corporate & Group Volunteering

Volunteer groups can assist in a variety of  ways to enhance our youth development programs. Clubs members benefit greatly from volunteer groups who dedicate human capital towards improvement projects that may not otherwise be completed during our normal day-to-day operations.  We rely on volunteer groups to enhance the lives of our Club kids by providing new opportunities to engage with caring adults from the community through fun and educational activities.  We look forward to planning an engagement opportunity with your group!

Types of Activities

Beautification / Done-in-a-day Projects: Projects may include painting Club walls, tending gardens, organizing Club areas, “spring-cleaning,” or mural projects.  Your efforts positively impact our youth by enhancing their environment and showing that the community cares about them and their Clubhouse.  Please note that expenses involved with beautification projects need to be covered by the volunteer group.
Youth Interactions: Connecting you directly with our members demonstrates what we are all about!  Through participating in activities such as tutoring, art projects, science experiments, or even leading themed carnival games – your group will be a positive force in the lives of our Club kids.

Priority

Priority for volunteer projects is given to corporations & groups that support BGCSF throughout the year.  Ways that your company/organization can deepen your impact include:

  • Event sponsorship: Youth of the Year (Feb), Boys Night Out & Girls Night Out (March, Annual Gala (May), Golf Tournament (July)
  • Program Support (Education, Art, Technology, Sports, and more)
  • Employee matching gifts or volunteer-matching programs

To learn more about these opportunities contact Suzy Varadi, Director of Corporate Giving, Tel: 415.445.5414; Email: Suzy Varadi

Group Size

Volunteer projects can accommodate anywhere from five to 50 people.  Please note that larger groups (15 or more) take additional planning and consideration.  For large groups, please allot a minimum of a three month planning period.

Club Locations & Hours of Operation

BGCSF has nine Clubhouses in the city of San Francisco (find a Club).  While each location is in need of volunteer support, a few of our Clubs rarely see a large volunteer presence.  Please consider bringing joy and a sense of caring to these sites through your involvement; the Volunteer & Corporate Outreach Manager can discuss options further.

School-year Hours: Monday – Friday from 2pm – 7pm (some extended hours for teens)

Summer Hours:  Monday through Friday from 10am – 6pm.
