The Edible Schoolyard at Hunters Point Garden Celebration

October 16, 2010 (2:00-4:00 p.m.)

The Edible Schoolyard at Hunters Point hosted its grand opening in 2008, as the first afterschool program in the country to become an affiliate of the Edible Schoolyard in Berkeley, founded by Alice Waters, restaurateur and food activist.  This year, we're hosting a Garden Celebration, featuring various organic food vendor stations around the garden, live music, cooking demonstrations by Bryant Terry, eco-chef, food justice activist, and author, tours of the garden and a cooking demonstration with tastings by the Willie Mays Boys & Girls Clubs members.  Children are welcome to attend with their families and enjoy “kid friendly” food and outdoor activities.
