Brighter Futures Campaign Construction
Our Four Capital Projects
We build our facilities and design our programs so that anyone—regardless of the options available to them—would send their kids to our Clubs. We believe our members deserve the best possible spaces to learn and grow -- spaces that make them feel valued and loved.
The result of a unique partnership with Mayor Gavin Newsom and City Attorney Dennis Herrera, the Willie Mays Boys & Girls Club at Hunters Point opened as a state-of-the-art Clubhouse in June 2008. Features include new learning and multi-media centers, an art studio, a teen center, a teaching kitchen, a full-sized gymnasium, a games room, an internal courtyard, and a SFPD Community Policing Office. Over a seven year period (2005 to 2012), we are restoring Camp Mendocino to provide our young people with a world-class residential Camp. Upgrades to this 2,000-acre Camp include new roadways and bridges, new housing for counselors, new shower and bathroom facilities for campers, a new baseball field and basketball court, and expansion of the ropes course.

The full-scale renovation of our Mission Clubhouse (circa 1928) has finally finished! It officially opened in June 2010 during a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony. Significant capital campaign donors who have earmarked their gift to the Mission Clubhouse are: The Rotary Club of San Francisco, the Irwin Charity Foundation, Gerson and Barbara Bakar, the William G Irwin Charity Foundation, the Koret Foundation and the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors. Additionally, BGCSF received an $800,000 challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation to drive support for the new Club.

Our Ernest Ingold Clubhouse will be rebuilt or relocated to better serve the Western Addition community in the years to come. We look forward to soliciting the input and involvement of staff, parents and community members to determine the best direction for this Clubhouse.
“Boys & Girls Clubs is one of the best organizations I have ever been a part of.”

“Having the Club allowed me to take on more work. If the Clubhouse hadn’t been there, I don’t think I could have supported my family.”
