Without the help of partners and supporters like you, the work of BGCSF would not be possible. We rely on the financial support of the community to keep our life-changing programs and services available to over 1,200 youth each day in San Francisco.

Most of our youth come from difficult economic, social and family situations. Our Clubs empower them to believe in themselves and their futures. Your contribution will provide young people with the support and programs to navigate beyond their circumstances and succeed in life. With your help, our city’s children and teens will continue to have a safe place to learn and grow, build skills, develop strong character and experience opportunities they never before imagined.

The future starts with our community’s young people—and with you. Working together, we will give our youth and our city a sense of hope, a sense of opportunity, and a sense that anything is possible.

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco’s Brighter Futures Capital Campaign is the most ambitious fundraising campaign in the organization’s 119-year history. Designed to position the Club for the next 30 years of service to the city, it seeks to raise $38 million to enhance facilities, expand programs and services, attract and retain the highest-quality staff possible, and provide long-term sustainability. The campaign officially launched at the organization’s annual fundraising event on March 19, 2008.

Campaign resources will go toward giving San Francisco youth the safest and best possible spaces to learn and grow -- as well as the experiences, programs, and guidance to help prepare them for their futures.

Campaign Goals

1. To positively, significantly, and measurably impact the lives of tens of thousands of San Francisco youth in the coming decade

2. To ensure that Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco members graduate from high school, pass the exit exam, and become contributing members of this community

3. To ensure that our members are “college bound”, “job ready”, or enrolled in a trade school when they graduate

4. To lower the rate of juvenile violence in the communities we serve

Campaign Elements

Construction

The campaign features four capital projects: a new Club in Hunters Point; renovating the Mission Clubhouse; renovating or moving the Ernest Ingold Clubhouse; and renovating Camp Mendocino, our residential summer Camp. Read More

Operations

The Operating Fund allows us to strengthen programs and services, with new and enhanced initiatives in the key areas of education, mental health, and teen services. It allows us to meet key short-terms objectives while expanding our long-term capacity to absorb these expenses. Read More

Endowment

An increased endowment—plus a strong annual fund—will enable us to meet our commitments to the thousands of young people and their families who will rely on us for years to come. The endowment will also produce additional resources for vital objectives, like attracting and retaining the best non-profit staff. Ultimately, growing the endowment bolsters sustainability, so we can provide generations to come with profound opportunities.
