Our Brighter Futures Capital Campaign, launched in 2005, is designed to help address the growing challenges facing children in need and their families, including staggering high-school drop-out rates, gangs, crime, drugs, and juvenile violence. We are now in the final phase of the campaign.
Campaign resources continue to go toward giving San Francisco youth the safest and best possible spaces to learn and grow – as well as the experiences, programs, and guidance to help prepare them for their futures. “All of our campaign projects coalesce to help develop a generation of young people who are educated and job-ready, with strong values and great social skills, who will build a healthy workforce and a strong community,” said Rocky Fried, co-chair of the campaign.
Thanks to the Brighter Futures Campaign, we opened the state-of-the-art Willie Mays Boys & Girls Club at Hunters Point in June 2008; fully renovated the 80-year old Mission Clubhouse in 2010; made extensive repairs to Camp Mendocino, our beloved summer camp located 3.5 hours North of San Francisco in the redwoods; and most recently opened the Don Fisher Clubhouse to better serve youth in the Western Addition/Hayes Valley community.
Our board and staff are grateful to those who have offered their generosity, leadership and commitment to ensure our youth have a bright future.
