BGCSF enthusiastically supports Vaccinate ALL 58 and strongly encourages COVID-19 vaccinations for everyone who is eligible and who is able! We are pleased to share the ways in which our community has come together in support of COVID-19 vaccinations since June, 2021.
This past March, our most recent pop-up COVID vaccination clinic with UCSF at our Excelsior Clubhouse had a great turnout! Youth came through to get their vaccine and we thank them for helping make our community safer!
In February, BGCSF collaborated with UCSF on a vaccination clinic at our Don Fisher Clubhouse! At BGCSF, we work to support kids and families every day. We know how disruptive this pandemic has been for our community. Our organization enthusiastically encourages COVID-19 vaccinations for everyone who is eligible and who is able, seeing it as one of the most important ways that we can get beyond this pandemic.
Prior to the clinic, our teen community shared their perspective. Here is what three of our members had to say about why they chose to get vaccinated:
Johnathon, the 2022 Visitacion Valley Clubhouse Youth of the Year:
Paulina, the 2022 Tenderloin Clubhouse Youth of the Year:
Kelly, the 2022 Excelsior Clubhouse Youth of the Year:
Before our teens teens spoke out, many of our staff members shared their support. This included Clubhouse Directors across the City:
In the middle of the summer, there was a Delta variant surge in San Francisco. Our Chief Operating Officer, Maxine Wilson, told her vaccination story and encouraged everyone to join her.
Our organization's support of VaccinateAll58 started in June when President, Rob Connolly, and Vice President of Club Services, Harold Love, endorsed the campaign. They shared why they got vaccinated and why they believe vaccinations are so important to the health of our communities.
Throughout this time, we have consistently shared our perspective on the importance of vaccinations and encouraged our community to stay informed by visiting www.vaccinateall58.com!

The first day of school is like a New Year's Day for kids. Back to school signals a new beginning, a fresh start, an opportunity to set new goals, establish new routines, and rethink who you want to be moving forward. For school-age kids, this means a new backpack, fresh school supplies, maybe a haircut, and some new clothes, all to make sure you’re ready for what’s ahead.
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is committed to supporting our LGBTQ+ youth year-round. Promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at our Clubs and Camp is at the heart of the work we do and what we stand for as an organization. Celebrating Pride every June is an important example of this commitment! Last week, our Don Fisher Clubhouse hosted a Citywide Pride Month event, Summer Pride Healing: Perfect as You Are.
BGCSF is committed to being part of a brighter future for the neighborhood and we are currently exploring plans for a new state-of-the-art Clubhouse in the Tenderloin.
