With the holiday season in full swing, I want to share my sincere thanks to the many people and institutions who support the work of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco—our staff, donors, volunteers, and government and community partners. I also want to express my appreciation to the youth and families who embrace our programs and enrich the communities we create in our Clubs.
This has been a year of transition for San Francisco and the nation, shaped by elections, a complicated economy, and a broad recalibration of values, norms, and priorities. At the same time, it has been a year filled with renewed optimism about where the City of San Francisco is headed and how it can be a place of dynamic growth and innovation, while also being a place where people at all socioeconomic levels can live, contribute, and thrive.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, our focus remains simple and constant: to be present where the needs of youth and families are greatest and to make every child feel heard, valued, loved, and understood. As I look back on the year, there are so many great moments to celebrate. Here are a few:

We were thrilled to celebrate Elda from our Willie Mays Clubhouse at Hunters Point, who was named Pacific Region Youth of the Year and a finalist for National Youth of the Year. While she did not take home the national title, Elda’s recognition as one of six finalists nationwide is an incredible achievement and a testament to her determination and leadership, and a reminder of the strength of our programming for teens.

This fall, we opened a new Club at the Bayshore School, expanding our reach and allowing us to serve youth from transitional kindergarten (TK) through eighth grade. This new site enables us to meet families where they are and extend high-quality after-school programming to more students along the Geneva corridor in Visitacion Valley.
This year also marked the one-year anniversary of our Springer Clubhouse in Sunnydale and Community Hub in which we reside, further underscoring our long-term commitment to the Sunnydale neighborhood and our close partnership with Mercy Housing, Related Builders, Wu Yee Children’s Center and the City of San Francisco.
Expanding Girls’ Sports Opportunities

In partnership with Bay FC, Visa, and Street Soccer USA, we launched an all-girls soccer league, expanding access to sports, teamwork, and leadership opportunities for girls across San Francisco.
There are many more moments to appreciate, but these stand out this year. In January, we’ll share our 2025 Impact Report, which captures these stories and the many tangible ways we are meeting challenges head-on, supporting youth and families, and continuing to move forward with purpose and optimism.
Thank you for standing with us as we support young people today and into the future.
Wishing you a joyful and hopeful holiday season and new year.
With gratitude,
Rob Connolly
President
Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco
This fall, we reached an exciting milestone as we leaned more intentionally into girls’ sports across our Clubs. One partnership that truly shines is our collaboration with Bay FC, Visa, and Street Soccer USA, which is helping expand access to soccer for elementary and middle school girls across San Francisco.
A letter of gratitude from BGCSF President, Rob Connolly, to all supporters.
At Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Every day, our staff focus on creating safe spaces, meaningful relationships, and high-quality programs that help youth thrive. While we are not experts in areas such as immigration, food security, or healthcare, we understand that challenges such as this affect many families we serve. To help connect families with reliable sources of information and support, we’ve compiled a list of suggested community resources to investigate further.
